Process and collaboration
This exhibition is a testament to the dynamic exchange between Brad Coleman and Amanda Alderson, where process and collaboration are intertwined. Both artists engage in a continuous dialogue, each influencing and responding to the other’s work.

Coleman’s expressive monoprints serve as the foundation for Alderson’s jewellery, with her designs directly drawing from the abstract forms within his prints. In turn, Coleman was invited to extend his influence beyond printmaking—selecting the colour palette for the zirconia gemstones in Alderson’s work. This decision challenged her practice, introducing new hues that she may not have otherwise chosen, further deepening the collaborative process.
Their exchange does not stop at inspiration; Alderson steps into Coleman’s world, creating monoprints using his technique, just as Coleman sees his work transformed into jewellery. Over half of the monoprints displayed behind Alderson’s pieces were made by Coleman, while the rest are her own experiments with his method.

By working with each other’s materials and decision-making processes, both artists push the boundaries of their own practice. The result is a cyclic feedback loop—where influence, material, and method are passed back and forth—blurring the lines between origin and response.
