Artist Statement

As an artist and primary carer, my practice is profoundly influenced by the need to balance time, responsibilities, and energy levels with creative expression. Time becomes a precious resource, and the process of creating abstract monoprints serves as both a meditative and therapeutic reflection on the complexities of life. The unpredictable nature of monoprinting mirrors my own journey, where control and spontaneity coexist, and each print becomes a unique visual diary of emotion and experience.

For me, the act of creating is more than just a visual pursuit – it’s a moment of stillness amid the demands of daily life. My arts practice offers a space where I can reconnect with myself, allowing the process to become a form of meditation. The textures, colours, and forms I work with evoke moods and memories, offering a visual language for the thoughts and emotions that often remain unspoken. Each piece is a singular expression, a moment of pause in a world of constant movement.
