Every work is individually handcrafted in Western Australia and reflects a contemporary visual arts practice. Whether you are collecting a Ready to Collect artwork, commissioning a Personalised Edition or embarking on a Bespoke Commission, these policies are intended to help us begin with shared expectations and mutual respect.
An Artist’s Studio
My practice differs from a traditional jewellery business. I create artworks that are worn on the body. Every decision is considered through the relationships between story, material, scale and form.
Rather than offering unlimited design choices, I work through artistic interpretation. You bring the fragments that matter to you; I translate them into a resolved artwork.
This collaborative process is central to my practice.
Collecting an Artwork
There are three ways to collect work from the studio.
Ready to Collect
Completed artworks available for immediate purchase.
Personalised Editions
An existing artwork is thoughtfully adapted through artistic interpretation.
Examples may include:
– another ring size
– a meaningful inscription
– an alternative gemstone
– a different precious metal
– a different finish or texture
– revisiting an earlier Studio Edition where possible
Bespoke Commissions
An entirely new artwork developed through my creative process in response to your story, observations and the relationships between them.
Artistic Interpretation
My work is not a custom design service.
Rather than asking you to design the jewellery, I invite you to share the words, memories, colours, places and observations that feel significant. My role is to interpret those fragments through my own artistic language and create a resolved artwork that remains true to my practice.
For this reason, the final artistic decisions including proportion, composition, materials and construction, remain with the studio.
Assessing Each Project
Every enquiry is individually considered.
Following our initial conversation, your project will be assessed as one of the following:
– Ready to Collect
– Personalised Edition
– Bespoke Commission
Occasionally a request that begins as a Personalised Edition naturally evolves into a Bespoke Commission where the level of creative development becomes an entirely new artwork. If this occurs, I’ll discuss the options with you before any work begins.
Pricing
Ready to Collect artworks are individually priced.
Personalised Editions begin with the current Studio Edition price, with additional costs reflecting artistic development, materials and making where required.
Bespoke Commissions are individually quoted according to the scope of research, concept development, materials and making involved.
All quotations are provided before work commences.
Deposits
Personalised Editions requires a 25% deposit before work begins.
Bespoke Commissions generally require a 50% deposit due to the additional concept development and research involved.
Deposits secure your place within my studio schedule and allow work to commence.
Timeframes
Every artwork is made by hand.
My creative process is intentionally slow and considered. Rather than working to artificial deadlines, I allow each piece time to emerge through observation, reflection and making.
Estimated completion timeframes will be provided with your quotation.
If your artwork is required for a particular occasion, please let me know as early as possible. In some circumstances, a Ready to Collect artwork may be the most appropriate option.
Communication
As a disabled artist, I work carefully with my available energy.
Communication is focused around key stages of each project rather than frequent updates. You can expect thoughtful communication at important milestones while allowing uninterrupted time for making.
Progress Images
During the making process I may occasionally share photographs from the workbench. These images are offered as a glimpse into the studio process rather than as a stage for design approval.
The artwork continues to evolve through artistic interpretation until it reaches completion.
Handmade Work
Every artwork is individually handcrafted. Small variations in texture, finish, dimensions and surface detail are a natural part of handmade contemporary jewellery and contribute to the uniqueness of each piece. These variations are considered part of the character of the work rather than faults.
Jewellery Care
Jewellery is made to be worn and enjoyed. Like all precious objects, it will naturally develop its own patina through time and use. Care instructions accompany each artwork.
Studio Care
Every artwork is created to be worn, lived with and to gather its own story over time. Like all treasured objects, jewellery may occasionally require care, maintenance or repair throughout its life.
If something doesn’t seem right, or your artwork has experienced damage through everyday wear or an unexpected accident, please get in touch. I’ll take the time to understand what has happened, honestly assess the work, explain the options available and recommend the most appropriate path forward.
My hope is that every piece continues to be worn, loved and cared for for many years to come.

Nothing within these Studio Policies excludes or limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If an artwork experiences a manufacturing fault, please contact the studio so we can determine the most appropriate solution.
